Built in 1820 the Oxhead Tavern served as a meeting house for the town's Congregational Church
In 1843 it was a church for Irish Catholics
It wasn't until 1940 that it began its life as a tavern
So as you enjoy your meal, remember, you too are now part of New England history
Then in 1860, the building was converted to a shoe factory
